vinegarA few years back we decided to go “chemical free” in our home. Although there are still a few things in the garage (you know, to go chemical free means you either have to use all that you had or dispose of it, and most of them need the toxic waste dump!), we pretty much live without chemicals of any kind in our daily life. Here is a short list of the products we use and their uses:

Vinegar – EVERYTHING: hardwood floors (with a little orange oil and olive oil), dusting, counters, toilets, toys, laundry, sinks, windows, mirrors
Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds – laundry, kitchen and bathroom floors, stains
Ecover Stain Remover – laundry, stains
Carlie’s Soap – laundry (especially great with cloth diapers)
Seventh Generation All-Purpose Cleaner – any hard surface that I may feel vinegar isn’t enough

And that’s about it! Really, having a clean home in an eco-friendly, chemical-free way is not difficult… it’s the actual cleaning and finding time to do it that can be overwhelming!

Potato for today: Next time it’s time to buy cleaning supplies, consider going chemical-free! (Vinegar is really the best!!!)
